Welcome to Kindred. These Terms of Use govern your access to and use of the Kindred mobile application, website, and related digital identity services provided by Melco Technology PLC.

By accessing, registering for, or using Kindred, you agree to be bound by these Terms. If you do not agree, do not access or use our services.

These Terms of Use constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Melco Technology PLC regarding your use of Kindred.


1. Acceptance of Terms & Eligibility

By creating an account or using Kindred, you confirm that you are at least 18 years of age (or the legal age of majority in your jurisdiction) and have the full legal capacity to enter into these Terms. If you are using Kindred on behalf of an entity or employer, you represent and warrant that you are authorized to bind that entity to these Terms.


2. Account Registration & Security

You must provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration. You are solely responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your credentials, one-time passwords (OTPs), and account security. You agree to notify Melco immediately of any unauthorized access to or compromise of your account. Melco is not liable for losses caused by unauthorized use of your credentials.


3. Digital Cards & Sharing

Kindred enables you to create digital business cards and share professional information via QR codes, links, messaging, and email. You retain ownership of the content you publish on your card. However, by sharing your card, you grant recipients permission to view, save, and retain that information independently of Kindred.


4. User Conduct & Acceptable Use

You agree not to use Kindred to:

  • Impersonate any person, business, or entity;
  • Publish false, fraudulent, defamatory, or misleading professional credentials;
  • Send unsolicited commercial communications (spam) or harass other users;
  • Interfere with or disrupt platform servers, networks, or security controls;
  • Scrape, harvest, or extract data from Kindred without express authorization;
  • Reverse engineer or attempt to derive source code from the application.

5. Intellectual Property Rights

All platform software, user interface designs, trademarks, logos, and visual elements are the exclusive intellectual property of Melco Technology PLC or its licensors. You are granted a limited, revocable, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use the service in accordance with these Terms.


6. Third-Party Links & Services

Kindred may contain links to third-party websites, external platforms, social profiles, and partner services. We do not control, endorse, or assume responsibility for the content, privacy policies, or practices of any third-party services. Your interactions with third-party providers are solely between you and the respective third party.


7. Subscriptions, Plans, and Payments

Kindred may offer free and paid subscription plans. Where paid plans are introduced, fees, billing cycles, renewal conditions, and refund policies will be clearly disclosed prior to purchase. Payments are processed through authorized payment gateways.


8. Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Kindred is provided on an "AS IS" and "AS AVAILABLE" basis without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the maximum extent permitted by applicable Ethiopian law, Melco Technology PLC shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of or inability to use the service.


9. Suspension & Termination

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate your access to Kindred at our discretion, with or without notice, for conduct that violates these Terms, harms other users, or exposes Melco to legal liability. You may terminate your account at any time via in-app settings.


10. Governing Law & Dispute Resolution

These Terms of Use are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Federal Democratic Republic of Ethiopia. Any dispute arising out of or in connection with these Terms shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.


11. Changes & Contact Information
